Zetwerk Bags solar PV module manufacturing order worth ₹2,500 crore
Zetwerk Manufacturing secured a contract for 1,515-megawatt peak (MWp) of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules from state-run NTPC, according to the company. A source familiar with the situation stated that the order is valued between ₹2,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore. Zetwerk received another order from the public sector energy company, this being the second one.
Zetwerk mentioned in the statement that they have received an order to produce and deliver 1,515 MWp of Indian-made solar PV modules, along with necessary spares, for the 1,200 MW Khavda Solar Project in Gujarat. The order size is stated to be approximately four times bigger than the previous order placed by NTPC in 2023.
“This second order from NTPC is a testament to our commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality solar solutions,” said Srinath Ramakkrushnan, co-founder of Zetwerk. “We are proud to contribute to India's energy transition and promote domestic manufacturing.”
The company announced that it will fulfill the order within a period of 210 days. Zetwerk has collaborated with companies like JSW Energy, Teesta Solar Ltd, and Continuum Energy on solar and renewable energy projects.
The directive from the government stipulated that only companies included in the list of Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules would be allowed to participate in government-funded solar projects. The requirement was put into effect in April following a one-year period of suspension.
Zetwerk's Energy Transition Business covers a variety of sectors in renewable energy, including the production of solar PV modules, battery packs and chargers, and solutions for battery energy storage systems. A group of 450 staff members work in procurement, design, operations, tendering, and on-site locations. It has a team for research and development as well.
