The UFlex recycling process is super-clean recycling, where more than 95 percent de-inking of post-consumer recycled material occurs to better the quality of the recycled product.
Commenting on the development, Jeevaraj Gopal Pillai, Whole-time Director & Director for Sustainability, and President of Flexible Packaging and New Product Development at UFlex, said, "Additionally, we have applied for USFDA certification to recycle polypropylene, which will position UFlex as the first company in the flexible packaging industry with the technology and capacity to recycle all three materials — PET, PE, and PP — for use in food packaging."
