The government of Telangana entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with JSW Defence to set up a manufacturing plant for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) within the state. According to the agreement, JSW UAV Limited, fully owned by JSW Defence, will allocate Rs 800 crore for the initiative through a technological partnership with a US defense technology firm.

The MoU was signed in New Delhi with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Parth Jindal from JSW Group present.

During the event, CM Reddy remarked, "Hyderabad and Telangana have historically been recognized in the global market as leaders in software and pharmaceuticals." Through clear vision and dedicated efforts, we are currently positioning Telangana as a prominent leader for investment in manufacturing across various sectors, including semiconductor, defence, private space, and FMCG.

Jindal emphasized the memorandum as the company's "steadfast dedication to being a vital player in indigenizing defense technology in India."

JSW Group, one of the largest conglomerates in India, declared its strategic foray into the Defence sector by creating a new business vertical, JSW Defence and Aerospace (JSW Defence). With a dedicated strategy to support the 'Make in India program' launched by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, JSW Defence has made its initial move by obtaining a controlling interest in an extreme off-road vehicle firm, Gecko Motors Private Limited, which has now been rebranded as JSW Gecko Motors Pvt Ltd.
