Tata Electronics, Himax, PSMC Partner to Transform India's Display Ecosystem
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by Tata Electronics, Himax Technologies Inc., and Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (PSMC) to transform the display and ultralow power AI sensing product and technology ecosystem in India.
With this Memorandum of Understanding, Tata Electronics, Himax, and PSMC are taking a big step ahead in broadening their market reach and working together to investigate the developing display semiconductor and ultralow power AI sensing markets in India and around the world.
From chip design to chip manufacturing and packaging, as well as electronics manufacturing services (EMS) to provide system-level solutions, Tata Electronics, Himax, and PSMC seek to use their individual strengths to provide their shared clients with complete, end-to-end display semiconductor solutions in the Indian and international markets. In order to provide solutions that address the "Made in India" requirements, the parties will work closely together. As part of the agreement, next-generation technologies will be designed and manufactured to fulfill global demand and improve supply chain resilience.
This declaration opens the door for cutting-edge display solutions designed for the Indian market, building on the historic 2024 agreement between Tata Electronics and PSMC to establish advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities in India.
Martin Chu, President of PSMC, said, “PSMC’s portfolio of semiconductor fabrication technologies is well-suited to meet the growing ‘Made in India’ requirements. We look forward to this partnership with Tata Electronics and Himax, as it provides a unique opportunity to expand our collective footprint and gain significant share in both the domestic and global display semiconductors and ultralow power AI sensing markets.”
