Syrma SGS Partners with MSI for Laptop Production in the Indian Market

Electronics systems design and manufacturing firm Syrma SGS Technology announced it will become Taiwanese laptop manufacturer MSI's production partner in India for producing laptops aimed at the Indian market. The firm announced that via this strategic partnership, Syrma SGS will manufacture laptops for MSI at its Chennai site.

“India has always been a key market for MSI, and as we continue to expand our presence here, it’s important for our products to remain globally competitive while being locally produced. With this vision, our partnership with Syrma SGS marks a significant step forward in our ‘Make in India’ initiative, bringing our fan-favourite laptops closer to Indian consumers," John Hung, India NB General Manager from MSI said in a statement.

MSI and Syrma SGS are considering a step-by-step strategy to localize MSI's manufacturing in India via this partnership, beginning with laptop assembly. It will entail a technology transfer from MSI, which will subsequently be combined with Syrma SGS' scalable production method.
