Schneider Electric Expanding in India with New Manufacturing Units
Schneider Electric, a leader in the field of energy management and automation, announced its proposal to open three fresh manufacturing plants in India. Speaking at the inaugural session of Elecrama 2025, Olivier Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric, added that the company would invest regularly in India.
Currently, there are 31 manufacturing plants in India. The three new plants will come up at Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmednagar, he said at the event organized by industry body IEEMA in Greater Noida. "India's focus on digitalization, sustainability, energy transition, and infrastructure modernization poses the greatest opportunities for growth," Blanc said.
"We are taking advantage of AI and digitization to boost growth for the Indian energy sector. They believe that other advanced technologies like digital grids, IoT-enabled distributed energy resources, microgrids, smart buildings, and smart cities will reduce emissions by 75% over the next 25 years," he added.
Schneider has already announced an investment of 320 billion to expand its industrial footprint in India and plans to add nearly 1.2 million sq.ft. of area by 2026. India is the third-largest market for Schneider across the globe, and among the four global hubs.
"India is key to our global growth, strategically important in its scheme. We are committed to invest in India's future, generate jobs and contribute to sustainable development," he said, Blum speaking separately. At ELECRAMA, individually, Schneider displayed a holistic range of electrical and automation products and solutions to hasten the energy transition of India.
Deepak Sharma, the Schneider Zone President for Greater India, MD & CEO, while speaking at the event, added that India's digitization and decarbonisation plan will rest on the company's efficient, resilient and sustainable products and solutions portfolio.
