Sandvik has acquired the assets of FASTech, a reseller based in the US that specializes in Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) solutions within the Mastercam network. This acquisition seeks to enhance Sandvik's standing in the CAM market while broadening its capacities to better meet the needs of its customers. FASTech will henceforth function as a segment of the Mastercam business division within Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions.

Stefan Widing, President and CEO of Sandvik, remarked that the acquisition aligns with the firm’s strategy to expand in the digital manufacturing sector. It further boosts Sandvik’s regional footprint and reinforces its capacity to aid manufacturers in adjusting to the changing industry environment.

Established in 1988 and based in Findlay, Ohio, FASTech has developed a strong reputation for serving manufacturing clients throughout the Midwest area of the United States. The incorporation into Mastercam is anticipated to strengthen customer connections in this area and offer manufacturers improved access to CAD/CAM solutions.

Russ Bukowski, Interim President of Mastercam, highlighted that the acquisition highlights Sandvik’s dedication to offering top-tier support and software solutions in the industry. This action enables Sandvik to more effectively meet the demands of manufacturers operating in a progressively competitive and digital-centric landscape.

The acquisition follows Sandvik’s 2021 acquisition of CNC Software Inc., the firm responsible for Mastercam, a leading CAM software brand used worldwide. At that time, Mastercam boasted an installed base of approximately 270,000 licenses, backed by a robust reseller network and collaborations with top machine and tooling firms.
