Reliance Infrastructure Exports Defense Equipment Worth Over Rs 1,000 Crore

Reliance Infrastructure, along with its subsidiaries, has shipped out defense equipment valued at over Rs 1,000 crore during a certain period. The intention is to invest more than Rs 10,000 crore in setting up the biggest integrated project for producing explosives, ammunition, and small arms in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The plan is to work on the project for the next decade, with the goal of forming partnerships with top defense firms worldwide.

"The company has been allotted 1000 acres of Land in Watad Industrial Area of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra to develop Dhirubhai Ambani Defence City (DADC). DADC will be the largest GREENFIELD project in the Defence Sector in India by any private sector company," the company said in a statement.

Jai Armaments Limited and Reliance Defence Limited, subsidiaries of Reliance Infrastructure, are already licensed by the Indian government for Arms and Ammunition production. The suggested plans involve possible partnerships with six top Global Defence Companies for Joint Ventures.

Reliance Infrastructure Limited, a private sector business based in India, operates in power generation, infrastructure, construction, and defense sectors. It belongs to the Reliance Group. Anil Ambani and Punit Narendra Garg have been leading the company as chairman and chief executive officer respectively since April 6, 2019. The main offices are located in Navi Mumbai.

They invests in power plants, metro rail, airports, bridges, toll roads, and defense projects. It holds a significant stake in the sibling firms Reliance Power and Reliance Naval and Engineering Limited.
