Rane and ZF Gear Up to Launch Electric Power Steering Systems in India
Auto parts manufacturers Rane and ZF announced their intentions to launch rack drive electric power steering system technologies in the local market. The two firms intend to launch the new product line via their current joint venture -- ZF Rane Automotive India Pvt Ltd.
Furthermore, Rane and ZF have established a licensing agreement for column drive electric power steering technology, which will be utilized solely by Rane Steering Systems for the Indian market, according to a statement from the companies. Rane Group has maintained a partnership with ZF Group for more than 35 years.
"The enhanced collaboration with ZF marks a significant milestone in our journey towards offering the next generation of steering technologies to our customers in India," Rane Group Chairman Harish Lakshman said.
Theodor Kaster, Head of Global Steering Product Line at ZF Group, mentioned that with this new phase of their strategic partnership, ZF and Rane aim to provide the complete variety of electric power steering systems to clients in the Indian market.
"We also bundle our engineering forces and offer a unique service to our customers with excellent know-how of modern mechatronic systems," he added.
Based in Chennai, Rane Group mainly focuses on producing auto parts. ZF is an international technology firm providing cutting-edge mobility solutions and systems for passenger vehicles, commercial transport, and industrial applications.
