Paras Defence wins ₹142-cr order to develop an advanced anti-drone laser system

Paras Defence & Space Technologies Ltd revealed on Thursday that it has secured a ₹142.31 crore contract from the Centre for High Defence Systems & Sciences (CHESS), a part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The agreement pertains to the creation of a powerful anti-drone laser system, with the project anticipated to be finished in 24 months. Paras Defence stated its pride in being the first Indian company to create such an advanced system.

Munjal Sharad Shah, Managing Director, Paras Defence & Space Technologies said, "Securing this contract from DRDO underscores our commitment to advancing India's defence capabilities through homegrown innovation,"

According to Shah, high power laser technology represents an innovative advancement offering extremely accurate, economical and quick response method to tackle emerging aerial dangers. This advanced technology improves defence abilities by allowing quick and precise targeting threat, minimizing collateral damage and increasing operational effectiveness.

Paras Defence & Space Technologies Ltd has initiated a project aimed at creating a laser source module and combining it with a beam control system affixed to a mobile platform. The systemic uniquely crafted for applications involving anti-drone, UAV, and anti-missile applications. Through this advancement, Paras Defence seeks to strengthen India’s defense framework by leading the way in homegrown high power laser technologies for improved national security.
