Mahindra Opens Testing Facilities in Tamil Nadu to Boost Battery Research
Mahindra & Mahindra opened two testing centers in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu; one is specifically for testing the safety of its SUVs. The Mumbai-based auto company stated in a regulatory filing that they recently inaugurated a passive safety lab and a battery research facility for engineers to conduct safety tests on SUV products and study cell technologies at different load cases.
It was stated that the labs are located 55 km away from the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) where all the company's SUVs are developed, with an investment exceeding Rs 300 crore.
"Safety and sustainability is paramount for us at M&M, and our engineers will now work on these highly sophisticated labs to develop the most fascinating and safe SUVs for our customers," M&M President - Automotive Technology & Product Development Velusamy R said.
He mentioned that the labs will enhance MRV by testing products and MSPT by conducting tests on cars in different terrains and simulations.
