Kinetic Expands into EV Batteries with Ahmedabad Facility
Kinetic Group has made a major foray into the electric vehicle (EV) battery space with the opening of its first battery manufacturing unit in Ahmednagar. The ₹50 crore plants will produce Range-X branded batteries for electric two- and three-wheelers with an annual capacity of 60,000 battery packs.
The state-of-the-art plant will manufacture both Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries, for not only Kinetic's proprietary vehicles but for other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India's rapidly expanding EV market. The plant boasts a mechanized assembly line with Internet of Things (IoT)-based technology and stringent quality audits to ensure conformity with Indian auto safety standards. Equipped with state-of-the-art thermal management and intelligent battery management systems, the Range-X batteries provide superior performance and safety. The LFP versions ensure higher thermal stability and reliability under harsh temperatures, while the NMC batteries contribute to higher energy density for an added driving range. The company will also create prismatic cells for three-wheelers in the facility, increasing its product portfolio further.
Dedicated to sustainability, the facility includes recyclable components and responsible sourcing practices, keeping pace with worldwide environmental standards as well as with India's push towards electric mobility.
Kinetic Engineering Limited, an essential business vertical of the Kinetic Group, is a principal player in high-precision motorcar components in the two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and commercial vehicles segments.
