The manufacturing industry in India seems to be gaining momentum, indicating an increase in employment opportunities. The most recent information from Indeed, the top global platform for hiring and matching, shows an increase in job openings in the industry and a demand for fresh skills.

“The Indian manufacturing sector is on an upswing. As India strives to become a global manufacturing powerhouse, the sector presents a wealth of opportunities for both businesses and job seekers,” says Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales, Indeed.

From June 2022 to June 2024, there was a remarkable 40% growth in India's manufacturing sector. As per a report by IBEF in 2024, the growth is driven by various factors like higher domestic consumption, government initiatives, an increase in global investments, and a rise in global demand for goods produced in India, as stated in the report.

The report stated that the growth path has not just enhanced the industrial scene but also stimulated an increase in employment opportunities, providing positive outlooks for job hunters across the country.

The data from Indeed revealed that specific positions in the manufacturing industry are seeing a significant increase in growth. A significant surge in job opportunities has been witnessed by CNC operators, with a 160% increase. Production supervisors follow closely with a 155% rise, and machine operators have experienced a 119% boost. These positions are quickly becoming more important, showing the industry's modernization and growing demand for specific expertise.
