In a significant move towards self-sufficiency in technology, the country's first manufacturer of semiconductor chip is set to build a plant for semiconductor chip and advanced packaging in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will lay the foundation stone for the plant today at 11 AM in Nava Raipur.

This project is expected to enter high-tech manufacturing for Chhattisgarh, with an investment of around Rs 1,143 crores. The new plant from Chennai-based Polymatech Electronics, with a facility of around 1,50,000 square feet, is expected to produce Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor chips. These advanced chips are essential for enabling the next-generation 5G and 6G technologies.

“This is a significant milestone for Chhattisgarh. With policy support, tax incentives, and world-class infrastructure, the state offers a strong foundation for investment in electronics and semiconductor sectors,” said CM Vishnu Deo Sai.

He added that the state government is fully in sync with the Union Government’s mission of promoting deep-tech innovation under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ initiatives. The government acted quickly to promote the project. The land in Sector 5, Nava Raipur, was allocated through a transparent tender process in 45 days, and the lease registration took 25 days, as per Industry Department officials.
