The Tata Aircraft Complex for C-295 aircraft production will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez in Gujarat's Vadodara, marking India's first military aircraft manufacturing unit.

The private Final Assembly Line (FAL) for military aircraft is a major achievement in India's defense vision of "Make in India".

A total of 56 aircraft were anticipated as part of the C-295 program, which was authorized in February of this year, with 16 of them set to be provided by Airbus in Spain. The other 40 units will be manufactured in India at Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). The entire process of producing 40 military aircraft, including assembly, testing, delivery, and maintenance, will be managed by the Vadodara manufacturing facility.

Apart from Tata, defense public sector giants such as Bharat Electronics Ltd. and Bharat Dynamics Ltd., as well as private MSMEs, will play a role in establishing a thorough ecosystem for manufacturing military aircraft in India.

After the inauguration, PM Modi will go to the Laxmi Vilas Palace before heading to Amreli to inaugurate the Bharat Mata Sarovar at 2.45 pm. He will also initiate projects worth more than Rs 4,800 crore for development in the district.
