Hisense and EPACK Durable Limited (EDL) have partnered to establish a manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. This facility will specialize in manufacturing air conditioners and other household appliances, strengthening Hisense's presence in the Indian market.

It is anticipated that the Sri City plant will be able to produce 1 million room air conditioners (RACs) by the fiscal year 2028. It is planned for production to begin in June 2025.

"This partnership will not only enhance our manufacturing capabilities but also allow us to focus on what we do best: creating outstanding products that resonate with Indian consumers," said Steven Li, managing director of Hisense India.

Hisense intends to back its localization initiatives by shipping domestically produced appliances to important global markets.

"This collaboration with Hisense opens new opportunities for growth in both domestic and international markets," said Ajay DD Singhania, managing director and CEO of EPACK Durable Limited.

Founded in 1969, Hisense is a company that produces household appliances and electronic devices, operating in more than 160 nations. In 2023, the company generated around $29 billion in worldwide revenue, with more than 40 percent of its revenue originating from international sales.

In addition to consumer appliances, Hisense is involved in B2B industries like transportation and medical technology. The brands under its portfolio consist of Toshiba TV, Gorenje, and ASKO.
