Havells, a home appliance manufacturer, would invest Rs 50-60 crore to increase air conditioner manufacturing capacity at its Ghiloth and Sricity facilities to 15 lakh units per year each, the firm announced on June 13.

Home appliance company's facilities at Ghiloth, Rajasthan, and Sricity, Tamil Nadu, have existing production capacities of 9 lakh and 11.2 lakh units, respectively. The decision to raise capacity was made in response to rising demand, according to the corporation. The expansion will be funded by internal accruals and is expected to be completed in Q4 FY25.

The firm has been expanding capacity across categories to rely on in-house manufacturing.  Over the last five years, Havells claims to have invested more than Rs 2,100 crore in capital expenditure on the electrical goods portfolio and the Lloyd brand. The Sricity facility has a capacity of 1 million AC units per year.
