Seven bids have been submitted to the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) for its Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) manufacturing Production Linked Incentives (PLI) program. The industry's overwhelming response can be seen in these bids, which total seven times the planned 10 GWh manufacturing capacity.

Amara Raja Advanced Cell Tech, Reliance Industries, JSW Neo Energy, Lucas TVS, Waaree Energies, ACME Cleantech Solutions, and Anvi Power Industries are among the notable names on the list of bidders. These bidders are competing for a total capacity of 70 GWh.

MHI had issued a Request for Proposal (RfP) earlier in January to shortlist and choose bidders for the PLI Scheme's establishment of ACC Manufacturing Units. The plan expected to designate a complete assembling limit of 10 GWh, with a monetary expense of Rs 3,620 crore.

Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACCs) are progressed electrochemical energy stockpiling cells known for their high limit and productivity with applications in different areas, including electric vehicles, renewable energy storage, customer gadgets, and power reinforcement frameworks. The Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) producing plan is intended to reinforce India's environment for electric portability and battery storage.

The technology-neutral PLI Scheme, which was part of the "National Programme on ACC Battery Storage" and was approved by the Cabinet in May 2021, aimed to create a manufacturing capacity for ACC of 50 GWh and required an investment of Rs 18,100 crore.
