Gopal's Sweets To Fund Rs 150 crore For Manufacturing unit in Mohali
Gopal's Sweets plans to invest Rs 150 crore in Mohali Industrial Economic Zone (MIEZ), which is being developed by the Royale Estate Group. MIEZ is spread across 150 acres, with plans to expand to 500 acres over the next three years. Its closeness to an international airport and other modes of transportation allows it to link to all four states.
"With the perishable nature of our products, mainly sweets and other dairy and bakery products, we were looking for the most central and strategic location from where we could serve all the four states within the desirable timelines,” said Sharanjit Singh managing director of Gopal's Sweets Pvt. Ltd.
Punjab's green farm goods, like as green peas, cabbage, onions, and potatoes, which are now processed and packaged at Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, would no longer be transported there. MIEZ's new plant will handle all of these processes for Punjab's farmers and food growers.
"We have more than 50 industries on board who have joined MIEZ and are in the process of setting up their respective industry, ranging from pharmaceuticals, packaging, food processing, agro and agriculture, engineering, tractors and auto parts, metal and bath fittings, machines, furniture, marbles and granites and so on,” said Ashish Mittal, Director, MIEZ.
Every industry that establishes itself in MIEZ would benefit from the Punjab government's Invest Punjab effort as well as the Indian government MSME "Make in India" drive.
