Dixon Tech Forays into Term Sheet with HKC to Produce Liquid Crystal Modules

Dixon Technologies has signed a term sheet with HKC Corporation to form a joint venture (JV) for the manufacturing of Liquid Crystal Modules (LCM), thin film transistor liquid crystal display modules (TFT-LCD Modules), assembly of end products such as smartphones, TVs, monitors, and auto displays, and the sale of HKC-branded end products in India.

The JV will be subject to the relevant governmental approvals and the execution of definitive agreements, the business stated in a regulatory filing. HKC designs and manufactures semiconductor display panels, core display devices, and intelligent display terminals.

In the intelligent display terminal business, HKC primarily manufactures smart TVs, other TV terminals and displays, all-in-one machines, laptops, tablets, advertising machines, smart fitness goggles, and other IT and smart IOT terminals.

Shares of Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. ended 3.69% higher at ₹9,820 apiece on the NSE, extending its 2024 gains to 52%

"Dixon Group is, constantly taking strategic initiatives to emerge as one of the domestic champion in electronic space by not only providing manufacturing solutions but also striving to be a trusted source in Technology and R & D space," said Atul B Lall, Vice Chairman and Managing Director at Dixon.

"This venture will give a boost to set up electronic component ecosystem & also deepen the value addition," he added.
