The central government has given its approval for the construction of Uttar Pradesh's first electronics manufacturing cluster in Greater Noida. This cluster, spanning 206 acres, will be located within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area.
Havells India Limited will invest Rs 800 crore in this project. Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department, stated that the state government is striving to develop Uttar Pradesh as a hub for electronics manufacturing.
The state government had proposed the establishment of a cluster in Noida, which has now received central government approval. The cluster will manufacture mobile phones, computers, and other electronic products, positioning it as a technological powerhouse for electronics manufacturing.
The cluster, to be set up in YEIDA's Sector 10 at a cost of Rs 539 crore, will receive Rs 144.48 crore in funding from the central government and Rs 393.90 crore from YEIDA. Construction is scheduled to commence on July 1 and is targeted for completion within three years.
In addition to factories, the cluster will also house meeting halls, hostels, skill development centres, and business centres, providing accommodation and training facilities for workers.
Technologies related to consumer, automotive, medical, telecom, and hardware electronics will be developed within the cluster. To facilitate the immediate commencement of operations for industries, 176 ready-to-use units with RCC roofs will be constructed, along with a convention centre.
