Burkert Expands in India with New Manufacturing Facility in Pune
Burkert Fluid Control Systems India Pvt. Ltd, a leading producer of liquid and gas measurement and control systems, has established a new production plant in Pune, Maharashtra. The cutting-edge facility aims to satisfy increasing needs in the area through local production of vital components and system solutions.
Located in Talegaon MIDC, Phase 2, this 50,000-square-foot facility includes cutting-edge machining, assembly, and testing areas. It can manufacture over 30,000 valves and 500 systems every year. At first, the plant will concentrate on producing items such as Mass Flow Controllers, Angle Seat Valves, Diaphragm Valves, and tailored system solutions, with anticipated growth in the future. This action will also help boost the creation of local jobs and enhance the efficiency of services.
At the inauguration, Burkert Fluid Control Systems CEO Georg Stawowy said, “Our new facility in India reflects our dedication to the Indian market and aligns with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Local production allows us to deliver more tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers and solidify Burkert’s role in India’s industrial growth.”
Sadiq Khan, Managing Director of Burkert Fluid Control Systems India, highlighted the significance of the new plant, noting that it’s the company’s third production site outside Europe. “This facility is a crucial step in completing Burkert’s global value chain,” he said.
By the end of this year, the Talegaon plant is anticipated to have 32 employees, and this number is projected to increase to 100 by next year. Burkert has already provided India with cutting-edge technology, such as Zone 1 ATEX classification panels, in order to assist the company in achieving profitability by 2028.
