Blue Energy Motors to fund Rs 3,500 cr for electric trucks production facility
LNG-powered truck manufacturer Blue Energy Motors announced its intention to invest Rs 3,500 crore in establishing a production facility for electric trucks in Maharashtra to support the state's shift towards green energy. According to the terms of a preliminary agreement revealed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Blue Energy Motors plans to create a specialized facility for cutting-edge electric (EV) trucks.
The facility will include advanced research and development capabilities, a battery-pack production line, a motor manufacturing unit, and the installation of charging stations, as stated by the company.
Blue Energy Motors stated that the proposed projects are expected to start in the upcoming financial year. The company states that this investment is anticipated to create direct jobs for more than 4,000 individuals.
"Our investment will not only reaffirm Maharashtra's position as a global hub for advanced clean mobility solutions but also will contribute to job creation and economic growth," said Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors.
The newly interconnected facility will adopt top-tier manufacturing practices to create zero-emission electric trucks, the company noted, emphasizing that these AI and ML-enabled EV commercial vehicles aim to transform heavy-duty trucking and greatly lower carbon emissions.
