Avaada Group Unveils 1.5 GW Solar Plant, Sets Stage for 5 GW Units
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has formally opened Avaada Group's 1.5 GW solar module manufacturing plant in Noida. In a major step to enhance India's renewable energy industry, the firm also laid the foundation for a huge 5 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility at Ecotech, Greater Noida.
The recently commissioned 1.5 GW photovoltaic (PV) module factory in Dadri is a big step towards Avaada Group's vision of sustainable innovation. Developed at record-breaking speed, phase one of the gigafactory was commissioned within 3.5 months with all utilities and production lines being fully operational, as per the company.
Yogi Adityanath highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s growing contribution to India’s renewable energy transition. “This initiative not only enhances our state’s role in renewable energy but also creates employment opportunities, helping us realize our goal of a USD 1 trillion economy,” he remarked.
The plant produces state-of-the-art TOPCon N-Type bifacial glass-to-glass PV modules, including advanced multi-bus bar design from 16 to 24 bus bars to be highly efficient. It can manufacture both M10 and G12 solar cells and has an annual capacity of producing 1.2 GW for M10 and 1.5 GW for G12 solar cells. Today, the factory produces 5,800 units per day with each panel stringently tested to guarantee high quality and reliability.
Avaada's new 5 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Greater Noida is set to enhance India's independence of solar production further. Spread over 50 acres in Ecotech-16, the manufacturing facility will mass-produce high-efficiency TOPCon N-Type solar cells. With a high-level investment, the project is set to create more than 3,000 jobs and receive global certifications like BIS, IEC, and UL, marking Avaada Group's emphasis on adhering to international quality standards. The twin projects mark Avaada Group's focus on developing renewable energy technology while promoting India's green energy vision and economic development.
Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, expressed gratitude, saying, “We are honored to have Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s presence, who has inspired the Avaada team to build a world-class supply chain for India and beyond.”
