Automotive Major JLR and TATA Comm Partner for Connected Vehicle Tech
Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Communications have bolster their partnership for connected vehicle technologies, the companies announced in a joint statement. In the framework of the partnership, Tata Communications will provide its MOVE platform to bolster JLR's connected vehicle ecosystem, revolutionizing the driving experience for customers globally.
The alliance will enable JLR’s upcoming software-defined vehicles with ongoing connectivity and access to smart services, even in the most remote areas across 120 nations, the automotive manufacturer stated. The newest collaboration builds on their current partnership to enhance the carmaker's digital evolution.
Utilizing the MOVE platform, JLR's forthcoming medium-sized SUVs constructed on the new electric modular architecture (EMA) will smoothly switch among mobile networks and operators, providing uninterrupted access to tailored connected services, including media streaming, it stated.
The platform will further facilitate improved and safer data sharing between JLR and its customers' vehicles, providing more effective Software Over-the-air (SOTA) updates and aiding the deployment of advancing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), it noted.
"The partnership with Tata Communications is the next step in our software-defined vehicle journey, offering highly secure and cost-effective data connectivity across 120 countries," JLR Director of Digital Product Platform Off-Board Mark Brogden stated.
