
Apple Plans To Commence iPad Production In India
Apple, a leading US based technology firm to start its efforts to manufacture iPads in India, accroding to sources, citing anonymous sources familiar with the firm's proposal. This renewed interest is reportedly driven by the Indian government's programs to draw more manufacturing supply chains to the nation. The Cupertino-based tech firm might soon commence exploring for a new manufacturing partner in India.
Notably, Apple's previous attempt to produce iPads in India with the Chinese company BYD was unsuccessful due to government restrictions brought on by geopolitical issues.
“BYD was almost ready to set up the factory for iPad in India, but clearance was a problem, and the situation has changed significantly now. We are now trying to help (Apple) expand further to grow for the next two to three years. There will be substantial growth,” a senior government was quoted as saying by Moneycontrol.
These advancements show Apple's proceeded with interest in expanding its manufacturing base and taking advantage of India's developing innovation area, while additionally lining up with the central government's push for expanded local production of electronics.
The firm is presently growing its manufacturing activities in India, with a specific spotlight on expanding iPhone production. The manufacturer of the iPhone is also working to boost production of AirPods wireless charging cases in the nation at the same time. This extension includes cooperation with Jabil, a US-based contract manufacturer that produces 4G and 5G gear for Ericsson, a Swedish broadcast communications organization.
