U.P. To Become Destination of EV Manufacturing: Chief Secretary
Chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra added that the future has a place with electric vehicles (EV). He pointed out that as the demand for EVs keeps on rising consistently, there is a relating need to upgrade EV charging framework in Uttar Pradesh.
“India aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070, and Uttar Pradesh is striving to become a hub for electric vehicle manufacturing. The government is providing subsidies on all types of electric vehicles to promote them for environmental reasons,” said Mishra while opening a workshop on ‘EV Charging Infrastructure Ahead’ organised by Uttar Pradesh Renewable and EV Infrastructure Limited.
The workshop was attended by senior authorities from the Indian government, state government, and the state's energy area, alongside industry delegates. The chief secretary added that a plant for assembling Ashok Leyland electric vehicles is being set up in Lucknow, with creation expected to begin in two years or less. Essentially, Tata Motors has a plant laid out there.
“The government’s efforts aim to establish a well-organized infrastructure for electric vehicle manufacturing and charging to meet the targets of manufacturing and incentivizing electric vehicles in the state in the coming years,” he said.
Mishra accentuated the significance of giving offices like cafes, entertainment, seating, and unwinding regions at charging focuses, as charging electric vehicles takes time dissimilar to petroleum or diesel refueling. Laying out such offices each 25 kilometers on interstates and expressways is important.
